first time users on app, when there is nothing there, it would be nice to tell them what to expect from the view, instead of showing "no records found"

Rather than "No checklist" I would like to let it say "No docs"

You could make the records list module conditionally visible only if there are existing records. The. Maybe have another field or maybe banner that is conditionally visible only if the records list is empty.
