Duplicate App

This is absolutely NECESSARY or I'm changing providers.

Without having a development, test and production setup we occasionally have to fix things in a production app which is quite stressful. So although not perfect this would be a big step forward

Duplicating an app

My customers are governmental organisations that want to own the app once developed. I want to keep the same design developed on stacker because of the database structure size. The easiest option is to replicate the whole app for a new customer and priceed with few changes instead of starting the whole customisation from scratch

Wait, you can't duplicate an app? This is essential to the way I plan on using it and I've spent hours configuring it. I'm going to cry now.

Chris Bolton: Ditto. I'm moving to Retool.

I just ran into an incident where I also needed to duplicate an app. Would be absolutely great to have this as a feature.

This would be a good buissness move for Stacker. Duplicating apps would allow app developers to build and sell custom apps, which would really grow the stacker subscriptions.

Matt Lister: yep. I'm leaving because I can't do that. I created a MVP and I'm ready to hit "duplicate" and sell it to 15+ partners right off the bat, so 15+ apps I'd be paying for. It's a giant rookie move to not launch with this feature.

Commenting for a user -
As a user creating applications for internal project management, they often makes similar types of applications for different teams. They can often spend two or three hours creating duplicates of applications.
It would be great to easily duplicate an app.

100% need this, as currently have to ask for it to be done rather than self-service. We're creating different apps for different clients but the same exact layout
Steve Cooke
Definitely upvoting this. The new Stacker allows multiple apps, which is hugely useful for us: we can create the same app, slightly tweaked, for different use cases and audience segments. But copying all the settings is onerous.

Very much in support of this. We also work with a variety of government clients that have very similar needs. It would save a lot of time to start from a template we create and then only have to modify from there.
